Film Festivals
Perspectives was officially selected for inclusion in several international film festivals during the early '80s. These included:
Festival des Films du Monde - Montreal. August 22 - September 1, 1980
Chicago Film Festival - November 7-26, 1980
International Animated Film Festival - Annecy, France. June 9-14, 1981
Internationale Filmwoche Mannheim - October 5-10, 1981
Atlantic Film Festival - St. John's, Newfoundland. November, 1981
Melbourne Film Festival - June 3-14, 1982
Ottawa International Animated Film Festival
Perspectives was also part of several "screenings", including...
The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden - Washington, D.C. 1981
Atlantic Film Makers - CBC Television series. 1984
Ramona Macdonald handled all the correspondence for festivals and screenings, so I can't confirm Perspectives was part of the Ottawa Film Festival or a screening at the Hirshhorn Museum. But, they were included in Doomsday PR materials from that time.
Below are a few images related to the festivals Perspectives participated in,
Festival des Films du Monde. Montreal, 1980
Chicago Film Festival. 1980
International Animated Film Festival. Annecy, France, 1981
Internationale Filmwoche Mannheim. 1981
Translation: "Perspectives" by Floyd Gillis (Canada). He dissolves the geometric forms of our cities, revealing their decay caused by noise, dirt, and disorder. It is a pity that animated film is barely represented in the program anymore
